Rumors of a Sufjan Stevens/National Xmas collaboration album have surfaced. While it has yet to be officially confirmed, Bryce and Aaron Desner played some songs on the BBC that seem to do all but that. check them out here.

Here we are at the end of the year. Every music critic and music blog has comprised their own list of the top albums of 2010. Well, that's not exactly what this is. More so, this is just a list of music I spent considerable time with over the last year. By no means am I saying that these are the best of the year. More Mellow and Less Mellow

I made 2 playlists for a friend the other day. I thought it they were good so I've decided to make it a little known pleasures compilation. Some of these songs are revisits, but they're good so you shouldn't mind. :)

I'm in Brooklyn right now. I really like this place. I've already been exposed to so much new music in the last two days. Stay tuned for new stuff up here.

Thanks for checking this blog out, and go make some music of your own.

PS

Look out for 2 other compilations coming soon.

"Missed Gems and Revisits" is done and ready to burn. It's a hodge-podge of great stuff from the last 2 years that I didn't hear until just recently and a few of my favorite songs I just wanted to share with everyone.

Also, there should be an high energy mix coming sometime near this weekend in celebration of Gen's b-day.

Fall is for COLORS

Hi everyone!

Its been a while since I've visited this page. I've become absorbed in school and was feeling a bit stagnant with my music. That definitely changed over the last few weeks. I've been flooded with great stuff and couldn't wait till after midterms to share it. Everything on this mix is relatively new,(like within the last 6 months) with the exception of the Dodos song. Some are the popular singles, some are not. I always try to avoid a mix just full of hits. It ends up feeling more like MTV Jock Jams than High Fidelity. :) In the past, I've tried to mix up tempos by placing radically different songs back to back. With Fall is for COLORS, I wanted to make something that flowed a little smoother. So, the energy picks up after the first song, gets into that hip dancing electro stuff the kids are loving these days then slips back into more mellow "indie" stuff (sorry for the inane and useless description). Initially, I started and ended this compilation with two bands I'm absolutely in love with right now, The xx and The Antlers. But I had this Mastodon single that I just had to use. Clearly it doesn't fit comfortably anywhere in the mix, so I threw it in last. Kind of as a joke, but also kind of a challenge to you the listener to find something in Metal that you appreciate. If you know me, you know I'm not much of a metal head myself. But I think this single is just brilliantly done. There's a lot to it. Ok, well I think that's all I have for now. Enjoy the cd! The title is an obvious play on the Virginia state motto, and my love for this time of year. As always, please support music. Buy it, make it, hear it, whatever. Just give back in your own way. Thanks for visiting, Love Ya'll!
